Re-verification Weights & Measures | Controller of Legal Metrology

The user of any weight or measure shall present his weight or measure for re-verification at the office of the Legal Metrology Officer or at such other place as the Legal Metrology Officer may specify in this behalf.
For re-verification of the weight or measure which cannot or should not be moved from its location, the users shall report to the Legal Metrology Officers at least 30 (thirty) days in advance of the date on which the verification falls due.
A verified weight or measure, installed at one place, if dismantled and re-installed at a different place shall not be used unless it has been duly re-verified and stamped, notwithstanding that periodical re-verification of such weight or measure has not become due.
If a weight or measure is repaired, such weight or shall not be used unless it has been duly re-verified and stamped, notwithstanding that periodical re-verification of such weight or measure has not become due.
Every verified weight or measure must be re-verified and stamped on completion of a period of-
   (a) twenty-four months for all weights, capacity measures, length measures, tape, beam scale and counter machine,
   (b) sixty months for storage tanks, and
   (c) twelve months for all weight or measure including tank lorry other than that mentioned in clauses (a) & (b).
